Dear Alina,
I have decided to start blogging to track how much you grow every few months. When you're big, maybe you'll read this and see how much I love watching you grow up! I remember my mom, you call her Baba right now, taking pictures and thinking about scrapbooking when I was a kid, but she never had time to get anything completed. So, I'm going to blog to you instead of trying to unrealistically set expectations of my time. Blogging I can do at work or at home or on the road, and is something you can still see in the future.
When I found out I was pregnant with you, your Dad and I had just been married for a few months. You are our honeymoon baby. You were everything I had always wanted at that point - a baby girl. You were a tough labor (for me), you took about 8 hours to come once we got to the hospital. You had been coming all weekend - I was miserable! But, I was pretty lucky in terms of other Moms.
Anyway, this is you a few days after you were born:
See? You were so pretty! And fussy! You had colic soooooo bad that your Daddy and I coudln't get ANYTHING done because you were always screaming! But, that wasn't your fault, you just had a fussy tummy.
Well, I am pretty busy and I have to go do some other things, but I love you and I can't wait to pick up on this tradition and write you next time.
XOXOXO -- Mommy
